SALVATION! COME TO CHRIST!

Take a moment. Get a cup of coffee, grab your bible, set down in your favorite chair, and open your ears and your heart, and your head, to this weeks message from Brother Blevins!

Dearly Beloved, lets take a moment to look at a passage in the book of 1st John, Chapter 2, verse's 1-2.

" My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and he is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."

In this legal age, we should all know what the term "advocate" means. An advocate is one who stands on the side of the defendant before he judge. An Advocate is a mediator. I love watching some shows I probably should'nt, like Criminal Minds and CSI and NCIS. You see Advocates all the time on there, standing up for greaseballs and scum, at least, that is what we are lead to believe.
But all of the NCIS, CSI, Criminal Minds, and shows like them cannot prepare us for our trial, which is coming up someday. You see, one day, we shall all have to stand at the judgement seat. We see this in Romans, 14:10

" But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgement seat of Christ."

And continued in verse 12...

" So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God."

What a terrible thought! This will not be some human judge whom we can persuade with pretty words and captivating trains of circumstantial evidence! This judge knows every single thing we have ever done, thought we have ever thought, deed we have ever done or contemplated. Who can stand before such a judge?

But for the christian, there is hope. For Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, became man, to know our sorrows. Became man, to know our pains. Became man, to stand before the Father on our behalf, to pay the debt our sins have racked up, and to pardon and sanctify us. What this means is that, when he was on that cross, he paid the debt, and underwent our punishment for our sins, so that we could be ransomed from them, and set  free. The seat of judgement, for the christian, holds awe, but not fear. Reverence, but not loss. For the christian knows that his debt is paid, and that heaven awaits.
But for the non christian, what horror! To stand before God, knowing that you are about to pay for every single dirty thing and thought you have ever had. Who can do it? who can stand?

But we have an advocate. We have someone who has been there, gone through what we go through, and can be a just and realistic advocate to the judge, Jesus Christ.

Oh beloved, if today is your day, this hour your time to stand before the judge, do you know what the judgement will be? Will the Almighty Father say, " Forgiven", or "Damned."? Do you know? Do you know for certain?

Don't take a chance on waiting for tomorrow, find out today! Go to the salvation page, carefully read it through, and act on it!

If you are a christian, bought and ransomed by the blood of Christ, then take a moment to sink to your knees in thankfulness, for his calling you from sin, and his gift of his blood!

Till next week my beloved, remain steadfast, and in your bibles, and on your knees!
